Job Description First American MLS Solutions, a division of The First American Family of Companies, is the nation’s leader in the development of Web-based MLS systems for the Real Estate Industry, offering a full line of technology products and support services. First American MLS Solutions has an immediate opening for a Senior Systems Administrator - Servers reporting to our Knoxville, TN location. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
• Responsible for supporting mission-critical business systems and servers for applications and databases along with first level technical system support for multiple diverse customers.
• System Support responsibilities include troubleshooting, diagnose and resolve complex technical issues for First American MLS Solutions product suite and underlying databases, call tracking, analyze and implement system change requests and enhancements, develop change specifications and service quotations, and assist in customer communication.
• Performs capacity planning and identifies capacity shortages.
• Implementations responsibilities include analyze and define business and functional requirements, assess requirements against technology, identify business rules, data elements and data definitions to support system, configure software to implement customer requirements.
• Identify server system performance issues, to include CPU utilization, disk utilization, kernel/registry tuning, and memory requirements.
• Responsible for assisting in monitoring hardware including performance, service interruptions and back-up processes.
• Diagnoses and resolves unique and complex systems problems. Experienced in disaster recovery process.
• Some travel required.
Job Qualifications - Excellent interpersonal, analytical, business and technical judgment, negotiation, problem solving and verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent technical skills required including demonstrated expertise with MS Windows Server 2003 and MS SQL Server.
- In depth knowledge of IIS setup and configuration.
- Demonstrated knowledge of SQL query language, data manipulation and data load concepts
- Experience with web based applications preferred.
- Technical project management skills. This position requires excellent leadership, planning and organization skills and flexibility.
- Ability to work in fast paced environment essential
- Ability to work with stakeholders across technical and business areas.
- Knowledge of real estate property information systems or working knowledge of real estate industry is a plus.
- This job requires 24x7 on call availability.
