Athiest Luigi Cascioli, is accusing the catholic church of having broke two Italian laws, in teaching Christ's existance nearly 2000 years ago. The first is "Abuso di Credulita Popolare" (Abuse of Popular Belief) meant to protect people against being swindled or conned. The second crime, he says, is "Sostituzione di Persona," or impersonation.
"The Church constructed Christ upon the personality of John of Gamala," Cascioli claimed, referring to the 1st century Jew who fought against the Roman army.

Now an Italian court will have to decide if Christ did or did not exist.

I've gotta try and keep an eye on this story. I see flame wars and new religious wars breaking out all over the world over this one.
