Well I'm glad you didn't make it because it would show how much more hardcore you are than me...but anyways...yeah...we're gonna freeze our asses off today, weee!
Yeah, anyways, me and TheSym are being all archaeological and shit and digging in the cold this week...so I had to get my shit in order for that and get up at 6 this mornin. I hope there was a good turnout!

OK, this "no post mode specified" bug is really getting to me, this is the second post I've had that was eaten by it. Now I have to try and remember what I said.
The shadowdancing was bad, really bad, I enjoy hot girl-on-girl action as much as the next red-blooded American but it just made things feel decadent in a bad way and gave off more of that "goddess/loser" vibe that you generally get in these kinds of scenes. As in, the girls dancing act as though they are goddesses and the guys watching them are losers, much like the vibe you get at a strip club, which is why I don't go to strip clubs either.
I guess that new bands were played but I wouldn't say a lot of "new music" was played, it really just sounded like the same old stuff to me, too much emphasis on thrash-guitar stuff, but I have long since stopped going to Sanctus and expecting to like much of the music, so no surprises there, I don't go for the music.
But, I wish I could say it felt like anything other than "more of the same", and not the "good" same, either. I loved Sanctus when it was at Fairbanks and have enjoyed it as recently as the Alice in Wonderland one and last Halloween. This one just didn't strike me as anything new at all.
Last night Karla said I "expect too much of Sanctus", maybe I do. But I spent $25 on the night, I think for that kind of money it's not unreasonable to want to have a good time, and aside from a few good conversations, as a whole I did not have a good time. YMMV.
But, it was nice to see Karla and Michael and others, even if Michael didn't ever play "The Passenger" for me.

seriously jack, and im not kidding here,
if your not satisified with what the scene has to offer, start somthing on your own - its not easy , but its not impossible, i would be glad to give you any pointers you need about where to go and who to talk to - but its one thing to complain, its another to get up and do somthing about it -
so if you really want to improve things, get somthing new rolling for us to go to - friday nights are totally open and available

I would have shown up if I could stand on both feet, but for me crutches and clubbing don't mix.

I have to say something about this. You are looking at this from the wrong point of view I think. It is entertainment. If you feel like a loser just by watching hot chicks grinding against each other in a Bond like silhouette then you may have more problems with the sceen than you think. And besides, who said you had to look? I think I can safely say that, by the look on most peoples faces, the shadow boxes were a hit.

I might try to, there is an option open that I haven't really explored the details of yet.
but its one thing to complain, its another to get up and do somthing about it -
I'm not complaining, I was just giving my honest thoughts on the night.
Silly me for thinking that opinions were welcome on this board.

You make a valid point except that the thing you're missing here is that, in all likelihood, not that many people in the current scene would enjoy a night that I put together. Some people in other scenes might enjoy it. It wouldn't be a "goth" night. It would be a sceneless, genre-free event.
In case you haven't noticed, not many people enjoy those. They like concrete, established stylistic environments.
I'm more short-attention span oriented than that. I like diversity because I get bored very easily.

You misunderstand me. I didn't say that I felt like a loser; I said that I felt the girls were giving off the vibe that you get in a strip club, i.e. "We're so fucking hot, you can't keep your eyes off us, you tools! Hahaha!"
I'm a winner. My mom told me so.
