He'll get kicked out of that lame ass venue... Demmit, why p. light?
He deserves much better, and I can't go in there... So sick of the same lame ass click hogging all the shows around here. Demmit to Hell.

I would definitely be down for that, and I'm sure a lot of people would.
I haven't seen Joe since he was showing his movies at the Neptune back in the day.

I have a feeling there is probably a good reason you got thrown out or banned from the pilot light. I've seen lots of good shows there that a lot of "venues" in town wouldn't have had...

... booked any shows becacuse they are not real Venues - They are bars with some idiot strumming cover tunes, and that is the Knoxville idea of entertainment. Having p.light in town is like being presented a plate of manure on a deserted island - the choice is second to none.
I don't think it was a good enough reason to bar me, but I'm glad it happened - just reciently one of the musicians within the circle got banned from there for something that Joe C. would be thrilled to make a movie about: an elitist click of fasist losers, that will "Excommunicate" you if you are not like them.

Wow. You must not have traveld to a lot of differant cities.
There's this place in Daytona beach called "The Patio" or some shit like that. It's essientially a deck on the beach with a bar and sound equipment, the only bands that play there are cover bands. Now, to me this blows ass...but its a 20 cover and you ususally have to know someone that knows someone to get in there...its guest list only. For a deck, bar, and cover band. So, don't say that's just Knoxville...that's everywhere.
Plus, most people don't even listen when an actual band is playing...not unless...The know someone who is friends with someone in the band. You follow?

I hate getting too far away from the subject of Joe's movies and all...
BUT...
I just have to say...one cover band that I WOULD KILLLLL TO SEE....is...METAL SHOP! Teehee

A plate of manure consisting of, just off the top of my head: Akron Family, Melt Banana, Lydia Lunch, Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, Necrotonz, Cat Power, Devendra Banhart, VHS or Beta, and Travis Morgan. Is it stellar every day of the week? No, but they get a fair share of acts that I would not expect to see in Knoxville. Good for them. Akron Family will be back on the Saturday following the Joe Christ showing BTW. Highly recommended.

i love the pilot light
every time i'm out on the road i try to play there
and i allways tell my friends that are touring the south to play there as well
the people that run that place are nice
and from the listing of shows i've seen on the their webpage
they seem to get a shit load of awesome events
from what i can see they are keeping knoxville pretty damn progressive
you should embrace that even if you don't like some of the people that go there

Well, things change - I was there tonight and got everything straightened out, so I'll be there for J. Christ. Still, it was years and they still remembered that crap! Wow - good thing I quit drinking.
.... I have not been to many cities? Daytona beach? the "Patio"? WTF? IS THIS A JOKE? The past 3 years I have done nothing but moved around the whole time and trust me, Knoxville is good for one thing - saving money on cheap rent and getting the HELL OUTTA HERE !!! And the main problem I think IS that people here settle for less. You deserve crap, if you don't do anything about it - just like this country's Government.
