One Dead, 2 Hurt in Tenn. School Shooting By DUNCAN MANSFIELD, Associated Press Writer
21 minutes ago
JACKSBORO, Tenn. - A student shot and killed an assistant principal and seriously wounded two other administrators at a high school Tuesday, officials said. The student was arrested.
The motive for the shooting at Campbell County High School, 30 miles from Knoxville, was not immediately known, Sheriff Ron McClellan told WVLT-TV.
"We don't know yet. I have the individual at the hospital," McClellan said. "These men are all fine Christian men, and I am at a loss for words."
Assistant Principal Ken Bruce was killed, according to state Education Department spokeswoman Rachel Woods. Principal Gary Seale, who was shot while trying to take the student into custody, was reported in serious condition, and Assistant Principal Jim Pierce in critical condition.
Parents rushed to the 1,400-student school to take their children home.
The school was locked down after the shooting, and students were evacuated and loaded onto buses. "They are searching each student as they are getting on the buses," said Roger Wallace, a driver at a pizza restaurant nearby.

I think they got the town name wrong. I'm fairly certain that the high school is in LaFollette territory not Jacksboro. Whatever though, that's crazy. Most of my dad's family lives in Campbell County. But I don't know what the high school is like there since I went to Anderson County.

Hopefully it wont happen...
Just saw video of the kid being taken to jail, showed him in the clothes he was wearing (Still blood stained) during the shooting. He wore Yellow Long sleeve t-shirt, and tan khaki pants. Very short clean cut hair and glasses. Basically he looks like any average kid with a very minor geek overtone. Doesn't look trench coat mafia part at all.....
But then again you know the media...

...So it's going to be blamed on Grand Theft Auto.

I'm sure they will probably find some kind of scapegoat as a motive if they can't get one. They always do.

I've talked to some of my family and stuff. From what I hear, the kid's father figure wasn't the best. He was apparently in trouble this week for running illegal gambling machines in his store and has also been caught selling drugs. But, I'm sure it was really GTA that made the kid do it. I know people like Senator Hatch would like to make everybody think that.

From the looks of him on video, I don't think they could make Goth stick well. My money's on gamer, video or D&D/Magic type.

Nope, its in Jacksboro. My mom and dad both grew up there, so basically my entire family lives there. And, I went to Anderson County also. What year did you graduate?

I graduated from Norris. The next year it merged with LC to make Anderson County.

I guess I never realized that. I never really paid attention to where Lafollette ended and Jacksboro started and then Caryville after that. I just guessed about where each is.

This crap gets closer to home every day. My son came home yesterday and told me that a student was arrested at his school (South Doyle) for bringing a gun to class. Apparently, this kid threatened to shoot a girl and someone told the administration. There were seven cop cars there and they arrested the kid and took him away. WTF! Now, I'm going to worry that my son will get shot at school! Let me tell you, this kind of shit makes for many sleepless nights.

by all means, correct me if i'm wrong...
last i heard.........he was being tried as an adult (case transfered to adult court, at least) and charged with 1st degree murder....... amongst other juvenile court charges.
i don't think thats ever happened to someone that young before, but i dunno.
i want to think its sad since he's only a kid.
BUT i had a good idea of what i was doing when i was 15, and no matter how pissed i got, i knew shooting/killing people wasn't the route to go.
