We are trying a couple of points of contact today in the remote chance that we might hear something. I'll let you know if I find out anything.

I know they lived somewhere near the Quarter, and most of it is dry now, so I'm crossing my fingers that they are too.

Got word today from one of the guys at Confederate where Dave works:

Last I heard, Dave was safe and able to get out of N.O. sometime between last night and now. Members of Confederate Motor Company are all meeting in a facility near Shreveport, LA. I'm sure contact info will be posted soon.

I will let you all know more as I hear it.
At least now maybe I can sleep a little better

Latest e-mail from Dave

Wow, thanks... All I can say right now is this:
Confederate's factory collapsed on Monday morning.
Total loss. 10 new hellcats and parts for 5 more.
Tools, equipment, etc.. Liz cried for an hour, sitting
on the street in front of our 'house'..

Our house... Untouched when we left, but had over 12
inches of water lapping the door. Is most likely 3-5
feet under water at this point. No hurricane damage,
the water didn't come 'till weds nite (after we left)
EVERYTHING we own is there. The Porsche was @ the
next-door neighbor's driveway to get it out of the
street.. Was attempted to be stolen on tues eve, had
to run them off w/a shotgun... Now I'm not there, it
probably isn't either.. We are w/friends in
shreveport, trying to figure out what we're doing,
both company, and individually.

On that note, I need information regarding a possible
re-location to knoxville. We require approx 25,000 sq
ft for production and offices. A turn-key location
would be best. Any thoughts? We are also looking @
asheville, and atlanta. We WILL be going back to NOLA,
but that will take some time. Confederate belongs in
the Big Easy. BUT, we need to be back in business
ASAP.

I'll call you guys tonite or tommorrow, and talk to
you, I really appreciate the thoughts (liz too!)

I'll be making a post after I talk to Dave as to what he and Liz may need right now. I am hoping that the KG community can do something to help some of our own effected by this disaster.

In the meantime if anyone has info about an empty warehouse/production facility that might suit Confederate in the area let me know that I can pass the info along.
