btw you should check out the new cash pseudo doc/tour film thing that just came out

called something like

this man his world or something like that

i caught about 45 scattered mins of it on "on demand" on my cable

it's kind of a tour diary thing of cash
with some appreances of bob dylan and others

and lots of footage of johnny on the road
and stopping in towns where his family lives
and hanging out with them

a lot of the footage from the hurt video is in this thing
of him going back to his old home and what not

there's a part where he goes home and talks to family members
that almost made me cry
from the pure honesty of they way they all acted and talked to one another
it's just pure love and devotion
without shame or fear of the camera

esp the parts where his family members are singing songs to him in the living room
in front of the camera

*hearts*

just watched it thx to the presale showing

best all round movie of the year, and ive had to correct that statement a few times this year but this is my lock movie.
movies have got better and better all year, but across the board greatness goes to this one.
its almost tear invoking
as a man whos lived on permanent bender and read both autobios..... im still in utter shock how well they captured all the different aspects of the fucking man in black.
i wont say a word but this

Q) how do you win an oscar?

A) cast j-name-i-cant-spell Phoenix as Cash. riveting. absolutely riveting
and dont listen to people who say reese whiterspoon as june carter is a dumb move

she does fucking outstanding, but no where near as good the the haunting image phoenix makes.

the only negative about this movie is its going against that little buttfucker harry potter and most people are so pop culture obsessed and have so little substance, guess where they are gonna go spend their money.

well i mean the did hollywood it up quite a bit, but the core is still there.
esp the writing alot of his hits about june
they just change how.
and some parts of their relationship are total fiction
thats about it really.
the first playing to sun records is about 50% on give or take.
but its still more accurate than most movies based on people by a long shot.
and it does make the movie alot better.

kris kristopherson (spelling?) once said that johnny cash was a walking contradiction, partly truth and partly fiction
i think the movie REALLY shows it
part man in black, part pillpopper in bottle.
