Cafe Press and Stamps.com have teamed up to let CP users make and SELL legal US postage of their own design.

From the latest Cafe Press storekeepers newsletter:
Get ready to sell your own Custom Postage and make your mark only at Cafe Press .

We're excited to announce that Custom Postage will become part of our expanding merchandise line in August. Currently in Alpha phase, shopkeepers will be able to create their own Custom Postage for sale in their shop and our Marketplace. That's right, share your own bit of American spirit, ingenuity and imagination where once only historic figures reigned.

Custom Postage will be available for domestic, U.S.-based mail only. In addition to the popular $0.37 stamp, a total of 7 denominations will be available, appropriate for postcards up to one-pound Priority mail pieces. Design offerings and order placement will occur through your Cafe Press shop, and order fulfillment and shipping will be handled by our business partner Stamps.com. Stay tuned for a full base price breakdown and more helpful info coming soon.

There ARE some regs about content, but still, if you have to use a stamp...

The Smoking Gun folks made some stamps the first time CP and the USPS did this and thats part of the reason it got canned the first time.

They made stamps of Julius and Ethel Rosenberg, Monica Lewinski's 'stained' dress, and some other questionable items and people just to prove a point.
