Questions and Answers, series between man and woman
Posted: Fri Jun 03, 2005 10:47 pm
This is an experiment of mine, where I write a series of questions in poetic form as The Broken Man, then I go back and answer them as "The Beautiful Woman"(No, I'm not sexually confused -.-)
Anyways, this is a series, I will update it frequently with the other questions and answers, there will be a total of 7 poems. (I am Roseofthorns if you didn't know)
A Broken Question from a Dying Man
In every man's heart burns a fire.
A fire fueled by a strong desire.
But what happens when this fire burns out?
What happens when the flames give out?
When the fire ceases, and gives way
The man will begin to dread the day.
Nothing will else will ever matter,
No longer will he have reason to listen to the clatter
He will simply disappear or fade away
For he has no real reason to stop and stay.
When the fire burns out, you have nothing left
And the pain covers you with mighty heft..
I too know what is like for the fires to fade
To feel as if my heart were covered by a shade
But what reason is there to fight anymore?
To lose again the moment I touch the shore?
Why should I reignite this flame,
When everything will just stay the same?
Nothing will ever change, it will never stop
The pain will continue until the day I drop..
So why should I try to stop the hate,
When it is something we all call fate?
Perhaps I am bitter, perhaps I am cold
Or perhaps I'm sick of all the lies I'm told
My flame is gone for anyone who cares
These are my answers for anyone who dares,
To ask me why I am frozen again,
In this broken and captive pen
I tried my best to be kind, I really did
But those who saw me ran and hid..
They call me ugly, they brand me a beast
The day of my demise they'll plan a feast
What is it that I have ever done to them?
Why do they force me to seek asylum?
Stop the lies, stop breaking your word
You're just like them, another sheep in the herd
People are the reason my heart is dead
They filled my soul with all this dread
Now tell me why I should restart my fire
Why I shouldn't wait until I lay upon my pyre...
An Angelic Answer from a Beautiful Woman
Oh my dearest man of old
My heart breaks from the story told!
How could they be so cruel,
But why are you such a fool?
Although you think you are dead and gone,
And you speak of what hate hath spawned,
Your heart is still passionate and set ablaze
Worry not about the pain, tis just a phase.
So come, sit by my side and listen
Fear not, love is not so distant
Your time to leave has not yet come
You're not quite ready to pay the reaper's sum
A man should not hide beneath the shade
A man should stand and lead the raid!
Know this my love, never surrender the fight
You will find your love at the end of this plight!
Never let your flame die out.
Do not sit there, be strong and shout!
You are a man, make things change,
Even though at first they may seem strange.
So release the hate you hold within,
Pry yourself from the cold dead skin.
Then you won't be bitter nor cold
But a sweet old man whose soul is not sold.
You foolish little man, your flame is still lit!
So the answers to the question do not fit!
So why not release yourself from the hurt?
Or are you too afraid to remove your dirt?
So can you not try yet again?
Or are you the weakest of all the men?
You say you're ugly, and a beast
Yet you are not ugly in the least
So once again I pray thee to stand
For you are kind, sweet, and grand
Ignore the lies and forget what's lost
Forget those whom have double crossed
Then you will realize that they are not the reason
For the words you speak of such high treason
But it is the weakness in your heart
So step down and remove the shard.
