HOLLYWOOD (AHN) - Band frontman, Trent Reznor, decided to pull out of a scheduled performance during this years VMA's after the network asked him not to display a stage backdrop featuring the image of President Bush.

According to a statement by MTV, the network did not feel comfortable "with their presence being built around a partisan political statement," adding the band decided to pull out as soon as organizers expressed their discomfort.

Reznor responded with a statment on the group's website, NIN.com, saying, "Nine Inch Nails will not be performing at the MTV Movie Awards as previously announced. We were set to perform 'The Hand That Feeds' with an unmolested, straightforward image of George W. Bush as the backdrop. Apparently, the image of our President is as offensive to MTV as it is to me. See you on tour this fall when we return to play in America."

MTV says the Foo Fighters will replace Nine Inch Nails during the taping, scheduled for June 4. The show will braodcast June 9.

Better way of sayin "Fuck you" to MTV is not even do it in the first place.

I may just be a lil' on the pessimistic side on Mr. Reznor here, but it seems to me like he is always getting labeled as the "rebelious" artist. But let's face it, he can't even take a crap without seeming to shovel shit in someone's or something's face.

Take for instance... if one of us were do sport a T-shirt with Mr. Bush's face on it.... it would be quite nerdy. Oh-ho... but if his majesty Mr. Reznor were to put one on... oh well... he's making a political statement, he's a badass, let's all go kiss his feet.

I'll give it to him, he makes decent music, but I find him no more rebelious than Green Day. My $0.02.

That may be true however, your music and oppinions don't reach millions of people.
