Xbox 360, PS3, or Revolution?

Personally, I am generally a computer gamer, but I am completely sold on the PS3. From what I've read about the console, the Cell processor is beast of power. I might pick up a Revolution also after I know more about it. I generally like Nintendo's push for fun titles.

Personally, I'll most likely be getting both the XBox 360 and the PS3, but honestly, the PS3 looks like the real winner this time around.

As for the 'Revolution', I don't know. I have a Gamecube, but there are very few games I want for it (that I don't already have), so the Revolution better bring some serious stuff to the table to make me want one.

i think the ps3 is gonna be more powerful and it will take years to program it in such a way
xbox360 will start looking better, ps3 will sell better.
then the roles will switch
nintendo's console will sell to fan boys. thats it.

Have you seen the hardware specs on the ps3? I'm waiting for a Linux distro to surface before buying one, and then I'm going to take over the world.

Well, hope nobody ran out to buy an Xbox 360 yesterday. Looks like the most fetid evil in the known universe made a gaming system after their own OS. Tons of links posted on Slashdot reporting lockups and crashes with the Xbox 360.

I am trying so hard to convince my son we should spend money on getting better graphics cards and such for our desktop instead of wasting money on another goddamn console. However he just broke a snowglobe on top of his gamecube so I have a feeling he's gonna want something to replace it.

I feel like consoles and games are just like throwing money away...but upgrading your PC is always a good idea...don't ya think?

Ah, the age old pc vs. console battle. Really, the PC side is easy to win if he is into First Person Shooters. The PC is really king of the hill in this particular genre, especially when it comes to online play. The PC is also the dominant platform in the expanding MMORPG market as well if he is into that. Unfortunately, though the pc fails in the I'm having a friend or two over to play Mario Kart Double Dash. It just really depends on what kind of games he likes. Although, PS2's are kinda cheap right now. I'm thinking of getting one for the woman.

I would tend to agree that PC upgrades are far better long term investments as compared to a game console, but on the other hand, how many computer games can you say you plopped down on the couch with a bunch of friends (or your son/daughter) and had a blast playing together?

Ah, but you would be the exception. Not that many 'mainstream' useers even know what MAME is. Besides, I have MAME/SNES/NES/Genesis/Etc. on my xbox ;)

1UP article recapping what's known about the PS3, most of the article is bleh, but they do have a good listing of the games that are supposed to be coming out for it near launch.
