This is the biopic/storytelling of the Marquis De Sade(Geoffrey Rush) which costars Kate Winslet, Joaquin Phoenix, and Micheal Kane. A period piece set in the 19th Century, it tells the story of De Sade and the woman he fell in love with in the Asylum where he writes his lurid and controversial tales of sex and murder, which cause such great controversy it offends even Napoleon. This film impressed me so much, it has become my favorite period piece. I'll definitely be buying this one to add to my collection. Two thumbs way up!
