I guess I'm just at that age where all my heroes are dying or will soon: WSB, Spaulding Grey, Cash, John Balance, and now Hunter. I will not say I am sad until I understand the circumstances of his suicide better. Grey's suicide was tragic because of his depression and how long he had been carrying it with him.
With Hunter, I cannot help but wonder if maybe he just felt "fuck it." Regardless of why, his voice will be missed.

Hunter S. Thompson is definitely a hero of mine and has been for sometime.I was deeply saddened to hear about this,whatever the reason for the suicide. We'll never see an author like him again.

I understand it's in his will. That's Hunter's style. That's how he would want it. He was a big fan of bonfires and explosions and anything that went bang and I'm sure he'd like to go bang as well."
