Is this an oxymoron? Can a punk be to the right politically? It reminds me of a funny quote from the Daily Show.
Reporter: "So, Punks for Bush? Isn't that a moron?"
Punk Kid: "You mean 'oxymoron?'"
Reporter: "No, I mean moron."
Discuss.

Hmm. I really don't follow politics that much, doesn't keep my attention. So I wouldn't have a clue, dude.

actually exists
theres a few of those bands out there
its not like christian hymals or anything but the bands are all christian and it makes the lyrics well.. as laughable as any other black metal song
this is the biggest contradiction of terms ive seen i first heard
compassionate conservatism
the really sad thing is that daily show quote your saying is actually with michale graves, the guy who
tried and failed to fill glenns shoes in the misfits in the early 90s.
what a shitfucker.
he did the interview with a misfits skull painted to his face.
he just refuses to let go the fact he made really shitty vocal noise with the last misfits lineup (there was like 15 members or so... glenn fired em as fast as he hired em) as a backing band.

There's a hilarious christian (I think they claim to be deathmetal) metal band called Mortification....and they're fucken hilarious...my favorite song by them is
JESUS GRINDS SATANS HEAD...
another one is KILLING EVIL..but it's not nearly as funny as jesus grinds satans head.
About punks...most punks are just idiot drunks that don't have homes...
or...rich kids bitching about how they can't wear their hair like they want out of their parents 4 story house.

Ok...If these 'Punks' are 'Conservetive'...Why are they pointing out that a Democrate was a Klansman?...Those are their people...Come on...Strom Thurman, Trent Lott, Calvin Coolige...Also it's funny that they point out the 14-hour filibuster this guy did...But not the 48+-hour filibuster that Strom Thurman did...For the same thing...Civil Rights...!

Your incapability to use tags properly is funnier, though.

-just sighs-
anyway.
I suppose as long as we are free to have opinions, there will be any number of combinations of them. They're like kool-aid flavors. strawberry.strawberry-lime.strawberry-watermelon.Strawberry-ass...oh wait..er..
Such 'contradictions' dont get me real flustered because i myself am pretty multi-faceted..i can see how people would take a little of this and a little of that to construct who they are and what they believe.

What exactly are the basic principles of the Punk movement? I'm assuming from what I've experienced that it is mostly centered around questioning authority, sometimes to the point of anarchy(though not always). Modern day, post 9/11, neoconservatives seem to have an uncanny trust in their government and believe in the goodwill of it's power almost to the point of totalitarianism. Taking Big Brother's side and trusting Big Brother to have any amount of power it requests(see Patriot Act, the occupations) in order to feel "safe" just dosen't seem too Punk to me.
