The Zodiac was an interesting case. I assume this is to be based on the widely circulated best seller from god knows how many years ago. I think they went so far as to speculate his identity, but I read somewhere that DNA has thus far crossed any of the major suspects off the list.
There are defiantely aspects about this case that will make for an above average serial killer movie if they choose to go that route. And it looks like they will with that director attachment. Hopefully it will have a touch of class. And it's about time too.
I was getting so sick of all of these almost "serial killer trading card" styled straight to video movies: Gacy, Gein, Dahmer, Bundy. Give me a Kemper move or shut the fuck up.

Hmmm... I may have to give Gein a day in court. Another friend said it was pretty good, so that's two positive recs.
HBO did a good Chikatelo flick. Focused more on the detectives than the killer, so very little if any gore. But, it was a good movie. Citizen X I think.
No director has the balls to touch an Albert Fish (or a Kepmer)movie with a 10 foot pole...But I'd go see it if they did! Twisted fucks they were...

It was Citizen X,I got the vhs version and the book it takes it's facts from. Both are very good.I didn't like the Dahmer,Gein,Hillside series, too much horrible acting, bad dialogue, and anti-climatic endings.
The only movies based on real cases I enjoy are Citizen X,Helter Skelter(for some reason that flick just cracks me up,yeah I know people died to make that,ha,ha motherfucker)and the Boston Strangler(w/Henry Fonda and Tony Curtis) by Richard Fleischer who if I may plug did the underrated See No Evil w/ Mia Farrow(think it came out before Rosemary).

maybe i should check it out again
but your probably right about kemper and phish
though even if someone did take the projects on
i bet they would get watered down horibbly

Yessss. My second favorite serial killer

I'm excited to see a movie about the Zodiac. If they don't fuck it up too much then it could be the best serial killer movie yet.I also once did a report on him for a criminal justice class,so he's come to be one of my favorites.I'll just keep my fingers crossed and hope this one doesn't suck too badly.
