I'm assuming everyone here watches sci-fi movies/reads sci-fi novels from time to time. So, what's your favorite "fictional" monster and why?

I think we all know what mine is, judging from the"Vampires" post, so I'm not going into anymore detail.

I'm partial to Demons myself.

As a kid I was fascinated by Nessie. I still have a soft spot for her.

I wanna be a cool sniper kitty and take all of you out from a safe distance. I don't have to follow monster manual... I write them.

I have always liked vampires...since childhood, I mean they are a key element to gothdom I believe. I've read the Anne Rice books as well as others....I was so disapointed with Poppie Z. Brite....actually my favorite Rice book is The Witching Hour, not even about vampires...but anyways, knowing that there are people that believe they are truly vampires makes me want to abandon all vampire interest I ever had. I like to be biten and all, but if you draw blood, I'mma stab you.

So, I'm embracing Zombies. I'm gonna pretend I am a person who really believes they are a zombie and start dressing like I'm in the Thriller video....and maybe I can start a local zombie group, to have territorial gang fights with the vampires.

Werewolves are my favorite, too. Altho I do thing it would be cool to be part werewolf part vampire. And I thought that way before the whole Underworld and whatever else came out.

You should read Robert McCammons 'The Wolfes Hour'. One of the best books I ever read. It's a bit sad, tho.

thats right! i said it! they are evil mutant creatures. i've lived all over the damn world and never saw one until i moved here. i'm convinced they were some kind of fucked up experiment done in some OR lab during the war. a secret weapon to jump out commando style and make our opponents piss on themselves while we ambush them or something.

something went wrong. they escaped from the lab as freak mutants! i bet they ganged up and ate the scientists or something!

and now, they are everywhere. more prominent in the south, some north, but only in the east.
they get into my kitchen and they won't fucking die!!!!!!
a whole can of bug spray, a broom, and some platform shoes won't kill them. fuckers are still jumping everywhere!
step on them and they crunch so loud you cringe.
and when you turn around to get a papertowel to clean up the mess, they mysteriously dissappear.
