LMAO!!!!

Since when was record labeling Manditory.... Sorry folks the recording industry is not required to adult warning label albums. Much thanks to Zappa, Dee Snider and HUGE host of other musicians back in the 80s during the rock censorship PMRC hearings.

Frank saw exactly where that would lead... to artists having to self censor in order to get distribution (ie Wallyworld, Kmart etc not sotcking anything with a warning label) The big boys said they would voluntarily label just to shut the PMRC up and pretty much has only labeled extreme lyrical content.

I suppose that sueing Wallyworld "might" be possible as they claim to only sell censored music (false advertising). But thats as far as I can see that one going

You were in Nashville Saturday? At the same time I was?

(It is a well known fact at my daughter's school that I use the word fuck more times a day than an entire 2 seasons of the Osbournes)

OK....

First you let the girl buy the CD without even checking it out first...The Skeen's should get their case thrown out on the grounds of negligence...I mean...If things like that where going to offend me...I sure as hell would probably be offended by the 'Goth' stylings, & revealing image that Amy Lee portrays....

Second, Maybe these people could get a lot of money out of the Maryland school system, & the hundreds of parents of the students that not only use the word 'Fuck' on a regular basis...I don't know about you, but I probably heard the word 'Fuck' in the first hour of High School, than I have on a Snoop Dogg album...

Read the lyrics first

Does anyone have the liner notes/lyrics from the CD? Does the "obscenity" appear in the lyrics? You'd think that a good lawyer would say "The lyrics are plainly printed on the CD jacket" and that would be the end of it.

The saddest point here is the fact that we're not talking about a small child...We're talking abut a 13-year-old girl...That, more-than-likely, uses the word more in a day, than it's used on the album in question...

If I got $74,500 everytime I heard the word "fuck"...I would be very happy. I feel cheated. Turns out that all I had to do to pay for a car, college, and a few years rent was to be offended. Dammit.

That's an idea! Everyone run to Walmart, buy this CD, then join the suit! We'll all be rich by this time next year...

Other suggestions:

1.) Sue the parents for negligence, & ignorance of a minor...

My personaly favorite:

2.) Sue Amy Lee, for deflimation of character of the Gothic community...lol...

At the very least, they still make more sense than the case we're discussing...lol...

I saw the best bumper sticker the other day. It was in a Walmart parking lot, and I get the feeling it was an employee's car....

The sticker read:

Friends Don't Let Friends Buy CDs at Wal-Mart!

Easy enough.

  • This is the stupidest lawsuit since that bitch sued McDonald's for having hot coffee.
  • Like a kid isn't going to hear "obscenities" anywhere else. Especially if they're in any sort of school, public, religious, or what-have-you.
  • JaNell has a point. If a parent cares that much, maybe they should sample the media their child is listening to. 'Course, that doesn't stop them from being EXPOSED!!!!!!!! to that sort of thing outside of the parental bubble... ;)
  • Fuck-fuck-fuckity-fuck-fuck-fuck. Ah. Now I feel better.
  • The ever ph33rful "eff-word" has been prevalent in American dialog for so long, it shouldn't be considered an obscenity. It should be a fact of life. Like sex. Hey, you! People have sex! *watches prudes across the country dive for cover and grab their flak-jackets*
