ok..so here's the deal. I'm tired of putting money into my stupid Kermit looking Mercury Sable. But I'm clueless as to what a fairly reliable brand of car is. All I know is that I hate Fords. I've had 4, and they've all fallen apart on me. Anyways...
What would you recommend? I'm looking for a 4-door sedan with plenty of cargo room and passenger space.

I, too, am a Ford despiser. After being told by a Ford dealership that it was normal for my mom's aerostar mini-van to burn two quarts of oil a week - i have no respect for them. I know of no one with an american sedan (the sports cars and trucks are another story) who hasn't had bad experiences with them.
As for recommendations... I like honda/acura. I have a 2-door acura integra that's never had a single problem in the 96,000 miles put on it. They make a four-door version - look for '96 and newer models - the older bodystyle had some minor issues. The GSR model is the high-performance package - if you're into that.

Hard to go wrong with a hondas or toyotas. In fact I have a friend in Nashville who has a nice little toyota, (I think) 4 door he is getting ready to sell fairly cheap. PM me and I'll get you contact info if your interested.

Thanks for the advice guys...here's another question for you. What do you think of Dodges? I can't seem to stop looking at Intrepids. and may be considering one of those.
