Due to finally shedding the final ties with an ex, my server space is going off line. That means that, until I edit all my posts with linked graphics and URLs, all the graphics in my messages will disappear for awhile and the links will be broken. Does anyone have a recommendation for a free web hosting site which will allow hot-linking of graphics? Please send me an email or PM or post here with your recommendations.

Also, since I was hosting Goth Lace and RoseBlood's avatars on my server, your avatars will disappear around 6 PM tonight. When I get web space again and transfer the files, I'll PM both of you with the new address to link to your avatars.

OK, I found several sites which allow hosting of graphics and hot-linking to them, but so far none which will also allow a normal html page as well. I guess I'll have to use two stones to kill one bird.

I use Lycos UK for my hosting. You have to use a UK address (I think mine is the mailing address for the House of Commons), but otherwise it's 50 MB of free space.

Try sigs.xs.to for avatars, and pics.xs.to for images. They recomended by Xerxes. I use them, they work great.

This site is the cat's meow but for two limitations: filenames must be unique, meaning one might have to rename the pics to something obscure to find a name not already in use; screen caps from DVDs aren't allowed, which some of my avatars are. I'm using http://www.imagehosting.us for those, but for some reason their images work for avatars but not for hot-linked images within messages or sigs. That is very odd because the site claims that very function when supplying the hot-link location, right down to the IMG and /IMG tags. Bizarre.

Well, I know you don't have to pay to keep pictures on myspace. Xanga allows you to store three profile pics but, come to think of it, to store other pics, you do have to pay. I'm a paying member of it so I pay $4 a month. Myspace might be your best bet. I'll find you online sometime.
