Currently my computer is making a fan type sound. Possible multiple problems?

A failure of a CPU (processor) or GPU (video card) or power supply fan will result in permanent danmage to your computer. Replace fans at least once a year. When your PC starts making grinding noises, it means a fan's ball bearings are wearing out and soon the fan will fail. Use compressed air to keep your fans free of clogging dust a few times a year, and if a fan starts to whine or looses speed, replace it immediately. Some motherboards have chipset fan, and the same applies.
