uh-oh. You need to be careful. Orchid growing is apparently something that can become obsessive. It's called Orchidelirium, and, no, I am not making this up.

There's a book called The Orchid Thief that is supposed to be really good. I haven't read it, but there was all this buzz about it when it came out. There was even talk of a movie. NPR did like a bazillion segments on the book and on orchid growers in general. They all seemed a bit... odd. You should fit right in. :)

My mom has one of those nice, oval shaped bath tubs, with the wide ledge around it. She has kept orchids there, since there is also a skylight there. She says they need the humidity from the tub area.

Yeah. Since Buttercup is just a dirty hippy who never bathes anyway, she can keep them in her shower :)

Oh...ha ha ha ha ha ha ha..

Ha.

I am sadly...a compulsive daily showerer...in the summer, sometimes 2 or 3....

I got a book on orchids. I will still kill it though...believe you me. But apparently they do like heat and humidity....and there are a scary amount of books on them...
