YEah, I was uber impressed. At one point, we could see the whole baby, legs and all and it looked like it was danceing. I wished I had thought to bring a VHS tape.

Aww...I don't want kids, but I do want kids...
Ok, I want kids as long as I can give them away when I get tired of them...and I don't wanna go thru child birth either.
Those came out really good.

very much cuteness!!!
Are Dr. Roussis and Dr. Stephens your doctors as well, or did you just get sent to Fort Sanders Perinatal for the ultrasounds?
They are who i have been seeing, and they have been wonderful.

We're having the baby at the Lisa Ross Birth and Womens Center. They have a partnership with Fort Sanders so we were sent there to have the ultrasound done.

The Maternity Center is excellent and I had a very good experience having RoZilla there. My only suggestion is to NOT take the 12 hour release option; hold out for the full day recuperation.
Also,

on the tub birth.
Don't worry about the pics; I just got slammed with work again so they're safe...
For now.
Mwa-ha-ha-ha.

The Lisa Ross Center is very nice place. That's where Lupa had her daughter, too.

*laugh*
Our midwife was looking over Ro's placenta and commented on how clean it was (they can tell if you've been smoking, drinking, taking drugs, or are malnourished, from the placenta) so of course TheSym has to go over and poke at it. He was fascinated...
There I am, having just given birth to Sputnik-head, and he's playing with the placenta. Grrr.
Jason, Karla, I know that you'll have a wonderful experience there. They're very careful and won't let you birth there if there's any chance of a problem.
Karla, are you going to nurse?

When
is the proper time to play with the placenta, if I may be so bold?

Hey, he had his own placenta to play with when his mom was carrying him! It was
not the time for a trip down Memory Lane.

I know, I went there 7 years ago for all of my prenatal care. I was supposed to have BOO there, but she didn't cooperate.
Don't know yet about the nursing, it didn't go well with da BOO. I'll decide later.

It does vary between kids; Sean wasn't into a lot of physical contact as an infant, so he only nursed for 9 months, but Ro loved it so he nursed for two years.
They both have always seemed to be much healthier than most kids, so I'm a big proponent of it if you can.

I'm so jelous!!!
I *finally* got approved for TennCare yesterday. It's only taken for freakin ever.
I'm 17 weeks, and thinking about Lisa Ross center too. I really want a sonogram asap since up till now I've had no prenatal care. The doctor that delivered my daughter is now at Ft Sanders and I highly recommend you don't go to him, any of you. Dr Elam, he was a jerk. Lisa Ross was my neighbor growing up and it's going to be weird going to the birthing center and not seeing her. An amazing woman.
Karla are you going to use the center and have a home/center birth or have them meet you at the hospital? I think I'd rather have this baby at a hospital, with my midwife with me. That way if anything goes wrong I don't have to be transported across town. I wish I could do it at home but I live in UTK housing, and there's probally laws against it.
