Okay, I'm going to be hosting a "Goth night" at Chuck-E-Cheese soon. I would really love for all to attend. So if there are any dates, preferrably on the weekends coming up, & you absolutely can not make it(aside from the obvious major event dates) please let me know. I want for anyone who wants to go to be able to attend. PM me if you're interested, and let me know any good dates for this event.
Thanks
Winsley

I hate to be Mr. Negative, but this doesn't really sound like much fun to me.
Why that choice of venue? (Maybe I'll like the idea better if you explain why.)

Sounds sort of like a "let's scare the normals and their kids" type thing.
As a mom...who has been driven insane many times by that place...it doesn't sound like something I'd like to do without my kid. And...I don't think it'd be too cool to bring my kid around any spookykids I don't know.

well, I mentioned it to a few people and they all had positive responses. I just think it would fun to go celebrate at chuckecheese, heh. It was either that or celebration station (shitty go-karts, woo!)
but there was just something about chuckecheese.
I understand the part about annoying kids and whatnot, but there is power in numbers
anyways, it started as hosting for someones birthday party, who is also on the board. then I just decided to invite everyone and we can all play at chuckecheese. and for those who have kids...well, they won't need a babysitter then. I dunno.... just was a thought.

It was a nice thought. I'm usually incredibly busy these days, so very little free time, though. I know my kids love any place with video games, & it's nice to have grown up company to sit & chat with while the young uns feed the quarter machines.
As for normals, so what? There's rarely an issue unless you allow there to be one. Of course, I get along with just about anyone.

I'm sorry, I don't intend to step on any toes. But, this is one of the reasons that I DON"T like to take my daughter to CEC anymore. It's a real bummer to have your child be all excited about going, and then you get there and there are a bunch of "big kids" taking over. I'm a big kid myself, and yeah, we play in the tubes with her sometimes. But, I know that a bunch of silly (in the best way) grown ups without children with them are pretty intimidating to the kids. And, well, I'm sorry, but we won't be attending.

Well, I understand if you're not comfortable, I can completely see why also.

Karla summed it up pretty well. Perhaps a better idea would be to have a night at an arcade or somewhere like laserquest that more caters to adults. Or maybe Celebration Station would be better...*shrug*
Good luck..

Actually, I thought about both of those. But for "practical" purposes wanted chuckecheese so people could bring their kids. Although personally I'd rather play at celebration station or lazer tag.
would you?

I know Chuck E. Cheese serves beer and wine...a fact that rather disturbs me.
I don't take my kid to frat parties for the same reasons...

I'll give you a call sometime and we'll figure out a good day, I know some other people on the board who said they were interested in going. Just thought I'd invite the general public as well. whee!

Who's b-day is it? Should we bring a gift? (Actually that was a joke, I don't celebrate b-days but I would like to know who's it is.)
Yeah if there is a bunch of screaming children there, I will just be forced to homicidal tendancies...but otherwise I think the intent and idea were a good try.
Let me know if you are for sure having it and when and I might make an appearance.

gwynn and I would be there, she prefers playing with grown-ups more often than not anyway. I have had two of my own birthday celebrations at the Showbiz and then chuck - e - cheese's (respectively) and they were a blast!!!
