Knoxville has lots of call centers...and a number of people seem to float between them. Other than that it depends on what you do, we have lots of restaurants as well. The West side of town is more expensive generally to live in. The south and east are usually cheapest. There are a couple of historic districts if you want to live in an older home...lots of variety, lots of choices. Its yer oyster, mate.

Where are you moving from? Knoxville is a terrible choice of a town to just randomly move to. It's not the worst place in the world, not by far, but as a "big city" it's atrocious. At the very least, I'd pick Atlanta over Knoxville if for no other reason than that you can actually see a wide variety of good bands in Atlanta.

I would recommend moving to one of the outskirt towns (my favorite is maryville, of course) if you are not moving from a city type environment

One's for Bellsouth DSL (where I work), Days Inn, ACN TV Home Shopping, Whirlpool, Comcast, DialAmerica, and a few others which I don't know the names of. I'm sure a lot of people here could give you opinions on each one. I heard the Whirlpool and Comcast places pay pretty well and aren't too strenuous. From personal experience the Days Inn place (Cendant) is truly the McDonald's of call centers.
Hey I live outside Maryville too...

Yes, I did. I really really miss high school. Especially that one.

As long as you have your own tools, there are quite a few jobs in Knox and the surrounding area.
