and anyone who knows Metro Pizza in the Alcoa Wal Mart shopping center.

Just found out today that the owner of Metro Pizza, Sal, has sold his place and is going into semi-retirement. Sal makes some of the best pizza we've had in East Tennesee, and is a helluva guy to boot. He used to own Roman's in Knoxville, before selling it and opening Metro. He makes incredible Italian food, and it looks like this weekend is the last chance to get it made by him!

If any of you know Metro and Sal, stop by and wish him well.

The good news is, he is selling Metro to a longtime friend of his, and the food really wont change much....at least I hope!

Update! We stopped by Metro today, because we just happened to be in Maryville....Sal's back! Apparently he decided not to sell after all. I think he just couldnt stand not doin what he loves.

The pizza is still incredible.

wow some good food almost left my former home ..... but now i live in knoxville ..... but nun the less i still love metros
