Sept. Deaths

If it's not covered by one of those other categories, you should probably talk about it here. Be nice.

Sept. Deaths

Post by QueenOfTheFlock »

Well, we have Johnny Cash and John Ritter both now.

Johnny Cash was more expected but it's still so very sad. John Ritter was only 55 and had just revived his career with his new television show (which was a guilty pleasure for me)

May they both R.I.P.

OH NO! I knew it was coming with Johnny....but

And John Ritter...he was pretty young. I was all about some Three's Company when I was a kid.

The Man in Black, dead at 71...may God rest his soul.
Cash died at 2:00 am (0700 GMT) "due to complications from diabetes which resulted in respiratory failure,"

RIP, Mr. Ritter. He died too soon, at 54.
The cause of death was a dissection of the aorta, the result of an unrecognized flaw in his heart,
"Let not man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and the worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind..."

I just heard about both men on NPR. So tragic.

When June died, everyone knew it was just a matter of time for the man in black. At least they're back with each other again... up yonder.

John Ritter was truly a surprise. My sympathies to both families.

May they both rest in peace.

also two others died last ngiht/early this morning, the man who invented the h-bomb and one of the stars on hogan's heroes. of course they aren't mentioned in the news, but they should be remembered as well.

I'd like to dance a jig on this man's grave.

Let us not forget The Grandaddy of Alternative Rock and one of the pioneers of Gothdom (IMHO)- Warren Zevon died last Sunday (I am still in mourning) of Lung Cancer

Zevon wrote songs such as:
Werewolves of London
Exciteable Boy
Poor Poor Pitiful me
and
Roland The Headless Thompson Gunner

This is swiftly turning into a year of great loss in the entertainment field

Cripes...I had completely forgotten about Zevon. There was a man who had to live with the shadow of death over his head for a long time. I remember seeing him on a late night show several years back, and he said that he was just concentrating on recording music, getting everything out while he still could. I'd much rather meet my fate unannounced like Mr. Ritter, than knowing that it was coming any minute now.

That being said, I am very curious as to what the tone was of his last album. What did you think Bone? Was it darker with the knowlede of pending doom, or did he not dwell on that at all? I don't see how you couldn't.

At least Jonny Cash's last CD provides the perfect requiem.

I whole-heartedly agree. It seems this year has been very hard on the entertainment field. A lot of greats and legends that can't be replaced in my opinion.

What sucks most about John Ritter dying is now there won't be a Real Men 2 with James Belushi...sure there is already a Real Men 2 out there but its not the same kind of movie....
