I was born in southern Florida.

I personally love this town and area. I have traveled all over the great land of ours, and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. I would move for the right job, but it had better be a Good Job with lots of money. Otherwise, I'll just stay here and love every minute of it.

I was born at Fort Sanders Hospital and I love this "scruffy little city".

Why, I prolly couldn't tell you. It does seem like people either love it or hate though...

Knoxville isn't so bad. Sure, it lacks a little to be desired, but the scene is good and the people are friendly (most of the time). I have traveled, and have yet to find anyplace I'd rather live.

As a whole I wish the general population was a little less conservative. Most native East Tennesseans are fairly tolerant, so I partially attribute the whole conservative thing to the influx of (now, don't anybody go gettting upset with me) yankees.

This is the least bad place I have ever lived.

Big enough to have everything I need. Small enough that I can know where everthing is. Ideally located in that I have much larger cities within a days drive is if need a bigger city.

The people are mostly harmless.

I"m from Ohio, right outside of Columbus. I like it here for most of the same reasons Celticsmith listed... and that most of my friends are here, or not too far from here. I REALLY miss the Big cities though...

I've been around the block a time or two, seen foreign and domestic lands, but as Dorothy says, "There's no place like home!" ;)

Theres alot of reasons I love Knoxville,

Its small and has a safe feeling to it, the people here are alot more understanding towards oddnest,
Its big enought that I dont have to worry about lack of people, and I can find most of what I need, and a good job.

Truth, I love it here, the only place I would rather live is irealand

i wish there were more things to do, as far as stuff for teenagers. not that i have any at the moment, but i know what it was like when i a teen. shit to do...got in lots of trouble. that and i really dislike football.

BUT, the scene is good.

like the area. nothing like living in a temperate rainforest.
lived in bremen germany liked it there and the city was cool lots of trouble to get into and there was constant fighting with turks
lived in colorado the mountains were awsome and the people were okay but there were, i believe actually more rednecks so i found myself in fights there as well.
but i've haven't got into a fight around here for years so the shithead-o-meter says knoxville is more respestfull of others

and i had a friend come in from sacramento a few years back and he was stunned at how nice everyone was and how beautiful the area was, so maybe his take on ktown should hold more weight than mine.

Im trapped here so Im attempting to not be completely revolted, The city as some interesting points but very many more bad points, it dose actually look cool at night just after its rained, but then where dosn't. About every 7 years this town will explode with activity and become halfway interesting. Then all the people incharge will decide "we cant have that, people might actually start liking this place so lets screw it up". If I actually had a choice I would live somewhere else, .,,, but i dont so I trying to learn to like it.

and there's alot more to do....

Depends on which part... was born and grew up in west Texas and the Pan handle.... WOuldn't move back there to save my life. However Houston, Galvastin, or possibly Austin area I would give some consideration to. Dallas wasn't to bad last time I was there either though that was 12 years ago.

K-town, is home to me now... Love the area. The best motorcycling east of the rocky mountains all within a days ride. nicely located within a few hours of some major cities. My only grump is conservatism of the area However I account that to the HIGH numbers of Southern Baptisits rather than "Yankees". Most of the yankees I have ever known (lived 10 years in PA) most are pretty liberal compaired to what I have run into here. Or at least less fanatical on the religious stuff.

I love Knoxville. Sure, it's chock-full of uptight baptists, rednecks, fratbois, sorostitutes, and Vols fanatics, and is in perma-recession, but there is just something deeply, but intangibly endearing. Aside from the mainstream folk, there is an unusually strong population of unique, extremely intelligent, alternative-thinking people. Most of 'em annoy the crap out of me, but I love 'em anyway. I say again, I love Knoxville.
