Because I'm not gonna censor myself to please you or anyone else. If I cross the line, Jon will edit me and most likely, it will be for a good reason...I generally trust his judgement. The facts are, their are some damn beautiful people (mstangledwebs is a cutie, miz_kitty, fink, delacey, etc) and some people that got hit with the ugly stick. There were some people - such as griffin - who put forth quite some effort to look fugly for Sanctus (by the way, that eyeball thing was fucking awesome!). I'm sure they're glad that people noticed.

Of course, there are those whose families should have put forth more effort to acknowledge that whole natural selection thing...

I was too busy getting happily trashed to notice any of them at Sanctus, but certainly we can all get together and lynch mob them at some other time.

I know people who felt that you were refering to them. Their feelings were hurt. It doesn't matter if you don't care, but I do. They are my friends and I don't like to see them hurt. "Ugly" is a matter of opinion, and although people like to assume they have a right to cast such judgement on others, they do not. Sure you "can" say someone is ugly, but it's not like your opinion supercedes all others here. It's not like you're right.

DISCLAIMER: this is my two cents, im not attacking anyone. i laughed when i saw the uglypeople.com joke. theres a sanctus pick of me and a friend im trying to keep of the sanctus pics because if you cut my face out of it, its total uglypeople.com material. but this whole thing raises a point and an issue.

i agree with tiredUnhappy to a degree on this, but not entirely.....
there are things that are univerally ugly. people are not one.
ex: when you see a kid thats been beat half to death by its parents or a violent car accident victim, that look on their face of disarray misery pain ect ect is ugly as hell on the grounds thats not that person and noone should ever have to be there. i find beauty in alot of these things because it makes me love the things that arent included in this catagory.

so you see someone and say its ugly. someone else says they are gorgeous.
ex: i think im one of the most butt ugly people on earth, and alot of people agree with me, but alot of people think im really sexy (their eyes are bad too ). i see to always be talking with someone and i never go long periods without a date, so im saying that i see me as ugly, but some dont; bottom line is i can never PROVE im ugly because there are outside factors that make any evidence i have inconclusive and subjective.
further more, if your measure of beauty is purely visual, you have mental problems for which you should immediately seek professional help.
ALL PEOPLE ARE IN THIS. i see alot of people (some in knox too) that people drool at that i think are butt-fucking-ugly because of who they are or the fact they know they are that attractive and make others feel horrible purposely when they converse with them... i will grant you though when 1000 people a day hit on you, i think you do have the right to tell people "when i hit on you, you got a prayer" but i think thats true of anyone anytime. for the most part all of that shit gets stomach turning to me really fast.
so in closing, every person that you think is ugly, theres another person who would tell you "BULLSHIT".

You are right...some people might think everyone at Sanctus is beautiful...but I seriously doubt it. You are right that "ugly" is a matter of opinion, and it is mine ALL MINE. I have the right to judge people however I please though...and I will judge them even if someone tells me I can't. However else can you decide who is worthy of your time and who is not unless you judge their character? How do you judge who you want to date unless you judge their character and whether or not they are attractive to you??

And nope, my opinion doesn't supercede all others. It's not like a person who says everyone is beautiful or everyone is ugly is RIGHT OR WRONG. It's simply OPINION and I am allowed mine and will express it freely.


However, I simply don't see how you can argue with the fact that some people aren't as attractive as others. It's a fact of life. I'm no Angelina Jolie and my boi is no Chris Cornell...but we still are attracted to each other and neither of us would give some people the time of day if we weren't attracted to them. Anyway, I'm the same way. If I see an "ugly" person, I don't think "I bet they have a great personality...think I'll see if I can hook up with them." I've also met people that are considered "drop-dead gorgeous". Their personality was so bad that I would have rather slit their throat than spend another second in their presense.

Not that I'm against drama, I think this whole thing is very funny and strange. Diddimus has a fair and kindhearted point of view. I think everyone tries to present themselves well at Sanctus, and sometimes a flashbulb in the face causes even lovely people to look awful. And Buttercup has a right to say what she wants, but must expect a dramatic response, like all "troublemakers" on the board (or whatever we are called now) get when they say something that is not PC. Maybe everyone reading these posts should assure themselves that THEY are not one of the aforementioned ugly people, and everyone will be soothed.
