It should pretty much be an unwritten rule that any club that charges a cover should have drink and beer specials.

$2 Icehouse is all I ask. Come on, it's a domestic!

Jack wrote:It was superior to Fairbanks in every way except the bar. $2.75 for an Icehouse is not "good beer pricing". And Cathy's mixed drinks had only a decent amount of alcohol. $4.50 for an amaretto sour that barely has one shot of amaretto is pretty lame.

Yeah, and $5.25 for a Jack and Coke kind of pissed me off, too.

Grr, argh!

I like the place. I know some of the guys that work there, pretty easy going. It's nice having the dancefloor somewhat divided so you don't feel like you're being gawked at by everyone, and there are more nice little corners, etc to sneak off into. The bar isn't really a complaint of mine, and I love that they have aircon there... so all in all I am content.

Ok drinks were WAY too expensive even for Sanctus drinks. The place looked pretty awesome, however get rid of all the stool tables on the upper level.. go all couches up there. Other than that... kicked much arse.

Sanctus at Blue Cats was one of the better events I believe I have attended since the beginning of this whole affair of having an actual Gothic/Punk/Fetish scene here in Knoxville. I must agree with everyone that the prices at the bar were definitely making up for money being sucked away from that place elsewhere, wherever it might be. It was a bit of a burden.
The atmosphere has been said to be good, I have to agree. As a person who perferrs talking to shouting the patio was a godsend. Nooks and crannies aplenty, a real feeling of being somewhere dark was appreciated, I used to go to Fairbanks when it was not Fairbanks, and I cant get that image/feeling out o fmy mind when there, too much of my job requires trips to Banks for business purposes, I dont need to attempt to relax in one, the change there might be the answer I am seeking but I thought Blue Cats was a very classy venue, next to maybe the impossibility of the Tennessee Theatre.
All considered I would go back, if I were to plan on being drunk that night I believe I would do my wallet a favour and proceed to drink very heavily at home first. But the feel of the place is closer to what I believe a good club for "our sort" should be.
Cheers

Okay...

Firstly... the venue RAWKED! Great atmosphere... cool furnishings... nice spacious place... way cooler than fairbanks... once the music was dialed it was very cool...
Now.. My bitch:
If you don't like your fuggin drink, TAKE IT BACK! Say something!!! It won't get better if you don't tell them!!!! the beer prices were better than fairbanks. the mixed drinks were not bad.. a little small, but not bad... if you got shorted on alchy... than ask the bartender for a new one, or more of the 'good stuff' these girls were not very experienced in mixing... they were obviously not more than beer servers... give em a break, but tell em how to mix em right... Simple and not offensive. I bartend sometimes, I know how it is...

The porch was the coolest.... And A/C... fuggin nice!

The beer prices were not better than Fairbanks - not even close! All the beers at Fairbanks have at least 7 or 8% alcohol in them, and the cheapest - Eye of the Hawk - is the same price - $2.75 - as Icehouse was at Blue Cats. Icehouse has less than 6% alcohol, and tastes a whole lot worse.

actually those ladies have been bartending for Bluecats for at least a couple months, I recognize the blonde from last year, tight ass, nice tits, sweet as hell, yum  but the bar has pretty much sucked at Fiction as well, wonder if its Gary or not, we only were lucky with Sinister with some drink specials...I'd rather see a weekly there with specials like Sinister then hold Sanctus there

Actually, we convinced Gary to try out the drink specials for Sinister, and if the KG were going to continue to hold Sanctus there, they could probably work something out. I thought the turnout was great, my drinks were great, and THANK YOU to the DJ's for an awesome night! :D

I had a blast. All of you make Sanctus the best experience anyway. The venue was just a bonus for me. I liked going out on the patio, wish it wasn't so muggy. I'm worried about parking. I liked the fact that they kept stacks of water at the bar so that if that's all you wanted, you didn't have to wait. I swear, I will breeak my neck going down those stairs in heels. I guess that means I'll have to stay on the dance floor. And CD, your poor knees! You're going to have to start wearing padding! I'm going to have to learn to keep my shoes on. I stepped in so many puddles and then cig. butts. Yeach! Thanks to all who made it happen!

No problem. She's a friend. Girlies defend their gal pals.

Janell, kudos to your powers of observation. :P

I had a good time at Sanctus. I just wish I could've stayed later then midnight. And I agree about the bar being a bit pricey.
