Suggestion for the chat. Can there be an indicator somewhere of how many people in the chat on the KG website? I think it'd be more likely for people to drop in even if they saw only one person in there.

The chat thing we used to have told how many were chatting, but this one is "experimental" because the other was taken down due to a security breach or something and I doubt Vader cares enough about chat to change it.

this is close to being implemented.

he cares, but the programmer developing the solution for him just bought a house, and thought moving was more important than chatroom features.
also, security is a strong consideration here. there were a good forty "quick fixes" that were thrown out the window because neither the KGB nor the developer wanted a spammer to be able to pull a board member's e-mail/aim/other info from a simple google search.
i can promise this much: the chatroom hasn't been forgotten. just postponed for a little while.

Have you thought about just ditching web-based chat for IM? I set this up at work and think it would probably suit this site very well since it's fully Jabber compliant and has a native client for all OS's.
