but do any of you really know like real emo
or are all these jokes just based of commercial rock bands
because like real emo is an offshoot of dc hardcore
and like
a lot of those bands i bet a lot of you would actually like
(well maybe)

I remember folks like Fugazi (from DC) being considered EMO back in the day, like the early 90s...and Fugazi fucking rocks...but this lame ass pop emo shit....*shiver* I don't know what the original label was meant for but Fugazi and all this pop punk emo crap are not the same. *shrug*
Is that the emo you are eluding to?

Ian of fugazi coined the term emo to describe the first fugazi album as i recall.
he then reffered quicksand as emo on quicksands first tour with them.... i coulda swore he called some of rollins work emo around the weight and end of silence days.
i remember when that word wasnt a bad thing, just meant new post punk.
