I think that they where pretty innovative, concidering the 'Genre' they where placed in...Tripp was a pretty damn underrated guitarist...Much like Meegs Rascon of Coal Chamber...These are guitarist that knew the beauty of simplicity...Both are awesome players in their own rights...Just they never had the reason to 'pull rabbits from their hats'...They just played what the songs needed...Much like alot of other bands out...Though...That is more for the fact that it's all the players can do...

shitty ones.... with some decent ministry rip offs from time to time.

Mehhh, all the Static-X I like was pre-Tripp. He came in after Wisconsin Death Trip. But I did think the Murderdolls were fun. Stupid, but fun nonetheless.
And he shouldn't have had to impersonate himself. There are tons of 14 year old girls that wanna fuck him.

wisconsin death trip was a decent album, had a few really good songs on it.. too bad they never really expanded into their own though.

It just kinda sucks that Static-X had to dump Tripp... I mean they are working on their 4th album right now and they have to find a new guitarist.....that just sucks

Well I'm not saying that the "child molestation" isn't important... Im just saying that 1. perhaps he didnt know she was 14... 2. keep in mind she wanted it.... and 3. Im not concerned so much with the mistake that he made... but the affect that it will have on Static-X as a whole...... I mean yeah even if it were consentual and he didnt know how old she was... its still statutory rape

Fuck...Screamin' Jay Hawkins got away with it all the time...& he was black....& it was the 50's...
So did Gene Simmons, Mick Jagger, Ted Nugent...& a slew of other rock-stars...Let the guy with dreads have some slack...

The only slack that I'd cut 4 a child molester would b from thier noose.

I'm going to come right out and say this: I liked static-x's machine album, except for "cold", which was so bad it almost sucked my brain out my nose.

Just for clairification...I was making a referance to the fact that alot of people get away with this kinda thing...Though I'm sure Tripp will get a max sentence...Not that what he did is acceptable...

Well, I admit that i am not very familliar with Tripp or his style. This is largely due to the fact that I never cared much for Static x's music. Beyond that, they just seemed to be another over-produced rock band who's label encouraged borrowing from the "goth" visual style to sell records,

Almost any band out is dressed up like little puppets, at the 'request' of the record labels...Static-X...No exception...Roadrunner was one of the few record labels that didn't really change the bands they signed, too much...Until Slipknot...Now, they are just about the same as Geffin & Atlantic...Only Roadrunner only has one true 'Mainstream' band...Nickleback...But, between the ones that make them money, are the ones that don't have a choice...I will Static-X some credit, for writing most of their own stuff...Rare in modern radio...So the sound was original...That's what mattered...The production...Well done, IMHO...Am I a big fan...Not really...But Wisconson Death Trip & Machine where pretty good radio EPs...The last one...Not too impressive...

Yeah, I just don't think that you can call this child molestation...in the legal sense, yes, but in reality, no.
I had sex with guys over 20 when I was 13...and I completely pursued them, and yeah, they should have known better, but the truth is, girls are capable of reproducing at earlier and earlier ages...me...at 11, so you can't really blame them for being attracted to girls who have gone through puberty and are actively pursuing them...its all probably pretty natural. Now, a person going after a boy or girl who hasn't reached sexual maturity...thats some fucked up shit
Not to be generic and say "if there's grass on the field" but from an evolutionary standpoint...its all about trying to pass on those genes to fit females...so....

Ditto. I was blowing guys in bands when I was 14. Ain't no thing.
