Sen. John Kerry conceded defeat to President Bush today and asked the country to put the bitter divisions of the election behind them.

Of course, after the appropriate amount of mourning time has passed. I see nothing wrong with collective discussion of the situation as a means of coming to terms with it. Passion, on either side, can't be expected to simply be switched off.
Please have patience with us, dear. I know I personally mean no harm, but I still need to vent a bit of frustration. I hope you understand.

But me on the other hand, I hated him before he was elected the first time and nothing has changed. It isn't like I get to make policy or have my voice heard by anyone who can make changes so I will continue to hate him and hope that he doens't take away my right to state that my opinion of him is less than that of pond scum.

I can't just put it behind me. I have a brother in special forces that has been overseas about 99% of the time since 9/11. He's seen so many of his friends hurt really bad or killed while Bush was out playing GOLF!

I'm sorry but I don't want him or anyone else I know over there coming home in a coffin.
Besides, I am honestly afraid of the future of the country in these next four years. I feel like Bush has deceived a lot of people to get where he is and I don't like it. He's proved himself to be a liar and obviously a lot of people chose to ignore it. I'm sorry if you don't feel the same way or you don't want to hear about it.
If it makes you feel any better, I'm pretty mad at Kerry now because he conceded too soon.

On one hand, i gotta believe if he does something INCREDIBLY fucking retarded (as if he hasn't already) there can always be an impeachment...allthough Dickie running things just makes me want to shit....
regardless, (and i requote my xanga here) I believe W Axl Rose said it best in the "Since I don't have you" video when he said...
"Yep....We're Fucked"

I've never hated the color red more than last night and today.
I am so disappointed. Let down. How could people vote for that fuck?
I watched the kerry concession speech...I thought he was very nice, and polite.....
But the bush speech...I wanted so bad to try and let my hatred for him go...but he was standing there, so smug...GRRR!
I cannot, and refuse to fall in line. I'm sorry, I just can't. This is a travesty. I don't care that kerry said to just "heal" or whatever. People should be mad, they should be upset. Bush is not going to "work with us". Fuck no. He could care less what we think. Even now moreso than ever.
I'm afraid for myself, and all of my friends/family.
I thought, screw this, move to another country. But that is giving up. That is what people like bush would LOVE for us to do. Less opposition for them. I even thought about leaving the bible belt. But, if I did, that would have been one less vote from here....And, that is allowing the conservative assholes to win. I can't do that.
And, I won't fall in line.

I personally think this election was a lose/lose situation. Either Bush continues his downward spiral, or Kerry pulls out too fast, makes too many changes, and causes everything to break down. "If you choose the lesser of two evils, you're still choosing evil."
*sigh*

We should get some bumperstickers or t-shirts for that one. Something like "No bush for me!"
(It wasn't originally a political statement, but if it makes ya feel better to think so...lol)
Careful what you say, Karmakaze. With that LJ thing and all...scary.

I am disappointed. I'm not a huge fan of either politician, any politician for that matter, but it would have been nice to give someone else a chance to do better. I'll get over it. I don't regret the way I voted.

I wasn't at all surprized by Bush's win. I knew when he got elected in 2000, that we would be stuck with him for 8yrs. it sucks....I hate it... But, I knew it was going to happen.
On a plus side:
Maybe Ministry will put out another good album in these next four years as well. Because it seems to me, they have good albums when Reagan or Bush's are in office.

If you are asking me to quit bitching, sure, I'll try. I have voiced my complaints loudly this year because an election is the time to do so. But that time has passed, it is over, and I am done
If you are asking me to support the President however, I really can't. For me, this has never been a partisan issue. It was about removing a man from power that I felt led his country into an unnecessary and unjustifiable war. I was opposed to it from day one, and am just surprised that a majority of Americans did not feel the same way.
As that is the case, I am ready to accept the fact that this puts me in the minority and as such, my views really mean nothing. So, yeah, I'll try to shut the fuck up. But to expect me to support a view I cannot condone is asking too much.

Nicely stated.

Sadly(depression has set in) I don't think there can't be an impeachment.Bubba took care of that by voting for a majority of &*%@#,err. republicans in the Senate. The one and only silver lining I see is that there will be an increase in good music, horror films and art (like the 80's).I'm already working on an idea along the lines of The Day America Failed. Can't wait to hear what Jello and Moore(his site yesterday says it all) have to say, maybe something along the lines of George changing his name to Robert and the G.O.P. is the new C.S.A.

Your location is deployed,if you are overseas or in the service hopefully you guys can get the hell out of there and come home quickly. My best friend was a 91' veteran,so I've heard numerous stories about what it's like over there, and it can't be half as bad as it is now. Take care,I support our troops the most by saying "Bring Them Home!"
