What a butcher!!! That is an inhuman thing to do. Besides Morpheus has the key to hell, Satan gave it to him in exchange for cutting his wings off

You would think that being in the comic show industry you would realize that the field contains a wide selection of viewpoints controversial or no. I"m a bit biased because I like the Sandman series but I think it has several morality plays involved with it.

Reminds me of the video rentals that edit popular movies so they end up being PG.

Oh puhleeze. Morpheus was soooooooo above the devil. The devil was peanuts compared to the Sandman. Hell, Lucifer needed Morpheus to bail him out of a jam, for chrissakes. *Ah, the Key...what a story.*

My favorite comic was Transmetropolitan but that series has ended! Just about the only things left in my reserve folder are the Tomb Raider titles, anything by J. Michael Strazinsky (the guy who wrote Babylon 5), anything by Paul Pope, and any new Groo titles. It's pretty rare these days that I come across a new title that I really dig.

Well damn that sucks. Its ahrd enough to keep a comic store afloat. Let alone when all your stuff burns.

MMMMMM Transmet. Ever read Preacher? That series is also ended, but you can pick them up in collected editions. I also read anything by Michael J. Stray(yeah the guy who wrote Babylon 5), and anything by David Mac.

Crap. That's where I bought all my T-shirts and Anime Art Books. I hope Troy opens up again somewhere soon.

Phil Foglio, the only true comic artist that spans humor and adventure with sexual innuendo! I've collected most of his works and met him a few times, while I do enjoy the odd comic now and then. Phil always stands out.

For the most part, I only get the collected editions of comics. I am wanting to try out Transmet myself. I second the recommendation for David Mack. Also, try Grendel * big plug* its really cool. Almost any Vertigo book is good. I'm reading Fables and Y-the Last Man from them.

Damn. That sucks. I've knew those guys. They've been through a lot. They've had hassles, most notably from the previous owner, now a resident of Brushy Mountain Penitentiary, from the very beginning. I hope they can rise from the rubble and the ash and pull it all back together. They had a good store.

Got back from Collectors Universe out in Century Plaza of Farragut, they are still open and have ordered double copies of everything to feed the need of comic hounds during this tragedy.

Latest issues of Ghost in the Shell 2, Red Star, and Lone Wolf and Cub 2100 are all out on the shelves.

Transmet is one of art's greatest contributions to the world. Spider Jerusalem is so badass. I think maybe the greatest thing a woman ever said to me was that I reminded her of Spider. She told me, "Brett, you remind me of Spider Jerusalem. Your so cynical, foul-mouthed, and malevolent." I looked at her with a surprised smile and just responded, "Thank you...that's the nicest thing anyone's ever said to me." Spider is the fucking man. Sad it's gone. We've now lost Sandman, Preacher, and Transmet. But don't worry, I'll be up there making another great book sometime in the future. I hope. *L*

If they do re-open, I think it would just be fucking cool if they called the place "The Phoenix." Definitely fitting.

Can't say that I've read any Grendel, Brian. I do like Wagner's style, but I've never really read a lot of his work. As a matter of fact, for a guy who wants to write comics, I have a pretty small collection. But I just love comics. I think there's just so much potential there. I mean, a comic essentially takes a movie and pauses every scene for you, so you can see EVERYTHING. I love looking for hidden jokes, symbolism, etc. in the background of comic books. Reading comics and searching for that stuff, especially in the artwork of people like Alex Ross, has taught me how to watch and appreciate film in a completely different light as well. COMICS!!! Hehe.

That's actually what he said on Monday. I told him that while it's appropriate, and fitting, given the X-Men reference as well, it's too predictable.
