This is a forum for those who use Lightwave (in atlanta) but since there is no local stuff for this if your intersted join up, this sight isnt too active but they do have an active group down there, hehe maybe we could slowly corupt them

Hmm, looks interesting, but I use 3DStudioMax. I usually hate talking shop, but what kind of modelling/animation are you into, specifically?

unfortunatly Im only doing logo and prduct animation for this company, I use to do character animation and hope to get back to it eventually

Ah, sounds very similar to my experience. I used to do character animation for a game company called Cyberflix, here in Knoxville. I tired of it, as the projects were lame in concept and my hands were tied. From there, I went to IPIX for a couple of years, then to Plastiline, the nation's biggest industrial signage company. All the boring sign and ATM design I did there wore me out. I refuse to take a job in the business ever again. When I get back in the saddle, I will be working only for me.

Hehe I thnk they're all gone now (IPIX might still be around in a minor way) I actually worked at Platiline for 1 day but it was as a Mac consultant

. I couldnt salve thier problem so they didnt ask me back

, I use to also work for a company called negative zero but the guy who owned it didnt want it to succeed, (just used it as a tax right off

) I tryed to get on at gone postal but they are now the 5 man group and i think one of the guys who use to run Cyperflix came back from Cali (haha no escape from the curse). But Im going to keep trying this is the one thing I found that I love to do (that I can get paid for that is)

Good luck, man. It's getting hard to sell anything other than 1st person shooters or orthagonal-view strategy games. I wonder if you've ever thought of doing animated movies?

Actually thats what we did at negative zero, ...well it was feature length 120 mins but it was for kids ( a tucan and a tropicle mamoth giving piano lessons) but yeah I want to do movies (need to get real training, and get a production studio to open near me) I am going to try and make a short for the next valley fest. My low level of drive and lack of funds keeps me from making my oun place. (well we're suppose to get a lottery soon) untill then I just keep sending out my reel.
