Um... no. Not at all. He's a big raging Democrat. He was always arguing with Kennedy on MTV because she's a Republican.

Why do you say he "leaned to the right"? Because he was anti-drug?

I don't know why, but, I've never thought of Henry Rollins as punk. To me he completely destroyed Black Flag. So it wouldn't surprize me if he was a republican. :-?
Yes, I have wished you were dead. You are just another face in the crowd, someone who brings me suffering, someone I truely hate.

thank god that i am not a conservative anarchist.......
hahahhahahhaa...

can you just imagine what they would be like? i don't think that could be comprehendable at ALL.

i didn't think that there was a way for a punk to be a conservatiist (sp?) but now i guess hell can officially freeze over.

First, I think that just about everyone crys out that they're punk...& they don't know what 'Punk' is...So it's easy to see how conservative punks exist...

Second, Hell hasn't frozen over...It's just heating up..

There is this guy that is on myspace and his name is politically incorrect. he listens to green day, bad religion, black flag, NOFX and the like and his quote says, "if you don't like america, then get the hell out"...
derek has been arguing with him on and off because he says that he is in a punk band, says that he is a punk, but loves bush and the government. he hates liberals and argues that the media isn't republican enough for society.
he also has this really long article called "why do conservatives generally win arguments with liberals?"
here is his profile incase any of you wanna go take a look.

it is a really nice read....... HAHA!

g0dz3lla wrote:What exactly are the basic principles of the Punk movement? .
ill answer that
considering it only has one principle and ive based my enitre life around it, it can be summed up as this
FUCK IT.
or maybe
FUCK YOU
and lastly
FUCK EVERYTHING
do what you wanna do, fuck everyone else is how it started.
like minded people saying fuck it
now these little goddamn pussies have turned it into a fashion show and made the punk look and defeated the whole purpose of punk, those hottopic little fuckers destroyed the entire premise of DIY

so in a way, i can almost understand how this could be possible, the whole thing that started this thread
that being said it, that mindset in the end defeats punk because thats the type of shit PUNK WAS STARTED AGAINST because that is the majority, hence the man, and fuck the man.
even if you get a good president in office, still fuck the man because theres so many other bastards in there it will only do nominal anything
you cant change most shit, so fuck it, change what you can, have a good time, and fuck them, fuck me, and fuck you to anyone i see seems to cover it.
for me anyway.

all of me and punkrockjoe's views differences aside, we totally agree on this as the reason we piss on most of the so called punk community (we call it being hardcore, but this is really what the topic is boiling down to)
like people that would support this atrocity of man.
and as a further note, i think the emo thing buttfucked the already destroyed name of punk anyway.

i agree for the most part with g0dz3illas take on all that. pretty good in summation.
its that EXACT type of thinking that i say makes now the perfect time for the next punk (since they ruined the word, we need a new one)
its the perfect conditions and i think in the next 4 years that type of mindset will really get centerstage and steal the thunder from alot of the bullshit going on because well, so many people think and wish it and dont it (i definitly disclude myself from that catagory)
its not your clothes. your fucking band list. how many studs you have on your jacket. you IM UNIQUE hairdo.
its the fucking idea of resistance in the stain.
its coming back, and i think people on their side and alot of the faux-punk liars will both be running and hiding when it does.

one of the many things im talking about when i say a shift is coming (im staying off the R word because its overused and becoming meaningless) because its less revoltution and more the type of change a werewolf goes thru at full moon.

i rant this out not lashing at anyone, just glad some people have posted a few sentence that made me smile or sigh in relief.
and on a last note on that black flag sticker jack saw, hey man if the owner still has the mindset, just got old and DIY-ed his way into whatever hes doing now, hes a punk in a caddy with a blackflag sticker on it as far as im concerned. otherwise, he should give up the glory days. we all have to sometime. it can be as sad as a 40 year old guy fitting into his lettermans jacket from 20+ years ago when he played highschool football

alas its 430 in the fucking mourning and im ranting again.
:-x :-x :-x :-x
/rant.
*edit note: damn i mispelled alot of shit, typed that out in one burst, no im not fixing it. grammar nazis fuck off.

The only ridiculously awesome thing about Henry Rollins was..*drumroll* Family Man.

Punk Rock is fucking shit these days. You have the whole rediculous PunkCore records movement which is becoming progressively more and more capitalist..I've even seen a Casualties cd being sold by Hollister.

That's why I listen to Crust

this is the biggest contradiction of terms ive seen i first heard compassionate conservatism
the really sad thing is that daily show quote your saying is actually with michale graves, the guy who tried and failed to fill glenns shoes in the misfits in the early 90s.
what a shitfucker.
he did the interview with a misfits skull painted to his face.
he just refuses to let go the fact he made really shitty vocal noise with the last misfits lineup (there was like 15 members or so... glenn fired em as fast as he hired em) as a backing band.
