Chat?

If it's not covered by one of those other categories, you should probably talk about it here. Be nice.

Chat?

Post by Alur006 »

Busyness has kept me away from the boards for a bit, I wondered if I missed an announcement for a new chat room, or if it moved somewhere else, etc. I know why the old one is gone (or the summary at least), just didn't know if there was a new one yet.

portable stuffed upholstery talk anyone?

Well now I don't know what happened either. I had some rather enjoyable if onesided monologues in the chat room, so I guess I kinda miss it as I am not an instant messenger kind of guy.

Perhaps they are still trying to clean all of the pillows out of it, left by some previous denizens....

We had to kill chat when we patched the security holes that were exploited last month. I don't know if t will be coming back but, if you all wish, i would be happy to start up an IRC chat room as a temporary fix.

I have set up an IRC chat room. #KnoxGothic

If you have never used IRC, it is pretty simple. The first thing you will need is an IRC client. I personally use Trillian which allows me to do IRC, MSN Messenger, AOL Messenger, ICQ, and Yahoo all at once. There are many other IRC clients out there though with mIRC being one of the best.

As soon as you connect to DalNet all you have to do is type

/join #knoxgothic

boom, you are there.

I should be on for quite a while.

Yeah, I had heard why it went down. Cool of you to make an IRC channel, sadly I can't get on it from work, since I can't install IRC, but oh well. I have it at home. =)
