Sinclair Media group to air anti-Kerry tv movie on Oct. 23!

Hi gang ... I'm posting this on here because I know most of you to be liberal, and none too happy with the way things have been going in our country for the last 4 years ... this note was posted to my local Knox County, TN, democrats list but I think you also need to be made aware of this too, as it has gotten me boiling MAD!

Many of you might be aware of Sinclair Broadcast Group. They are politically biased in favour of Bush, own local TV stations that serve 24% of our nation's viewers, and ordered all their ABC affiliates to not air a Nightline special earlier this year which gave a listing of every US solider killed in Iraq.

Well, they have gone too far now. On October 23, Sinclair is going to order all it's stations to premept regular programming in order to air "Stolen Honor" ... a commercial free movie which slander's John Kerry's honourable service in Vietnam. This movie will be aired just days before the election. The website is http://www.stolenhonor.com

This is outrageous, and really makes me sick the sway that corporate owned media has in our country. They accuse ABC of pulling political stunts, and then they do this?!! We need to do something and do it now!

Here's some ideas:

* Sinclair owns three TV stations in our area, here they are:

WEMT-39 (Fox) in Greeneville, TN ... http://www.wemt39.com
WZTV-17 (Fox) in Nashville, TN ... http://www.wztv.com
WLOS-13 (ABC) in Asheville, NC ... http://www.wlos.com

Write to these stations and tell them of your outrage over this, and urge them NOT to air this movie. For those of you who don't live in the East TN area, a listing of owned stations can be gotten from http://www.sbgi.com ... use that list, make yourselves heard!

* Drop by sinclair's website, http://www.sbgi.com, and leave a nasty letter to them expressing your outrage.

* Write letters to the Knoxville News-Sentinel about this issue. Maybe enough outrage can be generated to where something can be done!

* Go to this site: http://www.stopsinclair.org/ ... sign the petition, and explore the other links on the site for ways you can stop this media behemoth from affecting the outcome of our election!

We need to act, and act now! Pass this on to all your liberal friends who might be unaware of this sneak attack on our media and our airwaves!

and this whole time i thought the major news media outlets were so far up kerry's ass that if he stopped short they would have seen what he had for breakfast eh thats good stuff

Well it's a fact ... this "liberal biased media" you hear conservatives talk about ... doesn't exist. You have got megacorporations owning newspapers, radio stations, TV ... Clear Channel and Sinclair are merely two of these ... and of course, we all know about Fox news. It was in fact Clear Channel that ordered all it's owned stations to stop playing Dixie Chicks music when their anti-Bush comment happened. It was under pressure from groups like Clear Channel and Sinclair that the major networks (NBC, ABC, CBS, Fox) were forbidden from advertising the Michael Moore movie "Fahrenheit 9/11" ...

And of course all of these, including Viacom (the company that owns CBS and other cable networks) have given GENEROUSLY to re-elect Bush. Maybe it was all those corporate taxbreaks. You piss in my pocket and I'll piss in yours, that's how it works.

With all of this, it's no wonder people believed there was a link between Al Qaeda and Iraq, when in fact there was NONE.

Don't forget also: Airing this movie is a violation of Federal Election law. I checked it, it's true! Sinclair is actually breaking the law in doing this.
