Coming in April, this direct to video sequel to the direct to video 2001 sleeper- hit horror movie, Ginger Snaps, picks up where the 1st left off. Only this time, it's not Ginger (Katharine Isabelle) who has the problem with becoming a lycanthrope,but her sister Brigitte(Emily Perkins)......Okay. I LOVED the first one,(especially when they make the fake death polaroids) which is about two sisters trapped in suburbia, obsessed with mayhem, torture and death until they get a taste of the real thing. Bitten by a lycanthrope, Ginger begins to mutate into a sexy, uncontrolled woman, with some nasty canine tendencies. Is it a virus or a curse? Or the first step towards becoming a werewolf!.....and now it is to be continued! I am very excited for this one, definitely one of my favorite horror....well...movies in general. And if you still haven't seen the first one, GO RENT IT YA DIMWITTED FREAKS! I'm out like a fat kid in dodge ball.....later. "(sigh) Wrists are for girls....I'm slitting my throat"--Ginger

I do hope the second is as powerful and fresh as the first. With the same creative team and cast behind it, it stands to be. Even though I did not like the werewolf effects, with its strong story and likeable character, the first Ginger Snaps is easily one of my favorite werewolf movies.

yes, this was a great film. I wish they made more werewolf movies. it's such an overlooked genre.... I'll definitley be picking up this sequel.

Okay, here is some more info on the long awaited sequel, GINGER SNAPS 2:Unleashed. It will be coming out on DVD on April 13, and will be loaded with extras. If you have seen the 1st one, then you already know that the American version DVD sucks.(full screen, stereo sound, no extras) But there is a Canadian version that is letterboxed and loaded with kewl shit, which you can get on ebay. Also, I have read a lot about the sequel from Canadians who have already seen it, and most people say that it was a good sequel, but not as good as the original. This time it is darker and scarier, and there is an absence of the departed Ginger(Katharine Isabelle), but she DOES have a few quick scenes as an apparition to her sister Bridgette. OH! And the prequel, Ginger Snaps Back: The Beginning, will be out on DVD in a few months!YEAAAH!!!!!!(heads bangs and exits out of the room, skipping and frolicking along the way).

I saw this last night and thought it was a great sequel, but could've had more scenes with Ginger. But I liked how they played the original music at the most intense peak of the movie, and showed flashbacks and played sound clips from the original to give it the familiar feeling. And Emily Perkins was outstanding, looking a lot hotter than in the 1st, and the werewolf effects were amazing, way better than the first wolf. Solid direction and acting, and well edited, I was pleased with this delicious sequel.SPOILER........(and the dream sequence with the room full of girls faux masturbating was great! ) Too bad I can't find this DVD for sale anywhere in Ktown.....looks like I better special order it...damnit!

Can't wait to see this. I'll rent it this weekend. Glad to hear it was good, but I hope that they don't try to "pretty" Brigette up too much. It was her uniqueness and quirkiness that made her so appealing in the first.
