"ranks" - that thing below your avatar

If it's not covered by one of those other categories, you should probably talk about it here. Be nice.

"ranks" - that thing below your avatar

Post by darkvader »

I was wondering what people think I should do with the space below the avatars.

our options are:

leave as is (some people get personally assigned messages/public service announcements/etc.)

go back to postcount-based ranks - in which case somebody is going to have to come up with a list of them, because I'm not taking the blame.

implement the user-modifiable taglines like the Nashville forum uses.

User modified is a another good way to keep each person's area as individual as possible.....post count labels seem like too much of a ranking system.....

Just add a small note to those who make their own rank, anything deemed unacceptable will be changed at the admins descretion and anything deemed obscene or unneccesarily vulgar will result in instant ban.

Yah..and if you really need to see who are the total knoxgothic dorks..you can go to member list and have it sort by most posts....or by least posts...

I was the number six biggest dork last time I checked...go me.

So...go with the personalized thing...that'd be nice.

I like the personalized thing.

Yah- user modifiable is a good idea. It is forever depressing to me to look and see how many times I've posted... and compare it to how much time I spend reading this forum. The one is NO indication of the other... I've just long discovered that you learn a lot more by keeping your mouth shut. This doesn't apply well to an online forum where everything said is left up for view, but it's habit by now. Aaa well.

are you trying to insinuate something? do you have a problem with those of us who are just plain... chatty?! ;)

i think user-definable seems best for the group - everyone wants to be individual and such.

myself, i don't think it makes much of an impact upon communication.

ROFLMAO
Of course not. Chatty people are the ones who make listening fun. You, for example, are an interesting read. I like chatty people. They're fun to keep up with.
