More anime stuff

Post by Onibubba »

Glad to see there are some anime junkies here. I've seen it mentioned a few times and see quite a few anime avatars. I wondered if we could share opinions on a few series. There is so much out there that has not made it to the US yet. I've downloaded a few fun shows with Bit Torrent and would like to find more. Here are my suggestions and how available they are:

1) Ebichu - The adventures of a housekeeping hamster. Laugh out loud funny. This is from the same people who did FLCL and NGE. Aired on TV but as rude and offensive as Ping Pong Club. Available through bit torrent files and fan subbers

2) Berserk - (Using Simpsons Comic Book Guy voice) "Best anime series ever." Violent series that will leave you shocked, sad, angry and begging for more. Available commercially and the manga that it is based upon will be commercially available this month...and will continue the story.

3) Air Master - Think a female streetfighter, but the lead is not what you always picture as an anime fighting "leading lady." She really looks like she could kick you ass and not think twice about it. Tough as nails fighting with cheesy humor and anime drama. Bit torrent and fan subbers. Fun but nothing too serious.

4) Wolf's Rain - Man was this good. From the guys that did Cowboy Bebop the futuristic story of a wolf pack (wolves can appear as human didn't you know) that are seeking paradise. Great series with a satisfying conclusion. Avaialble from fan subbers and soon domesticly. The only flaw was FIVE episodes of flashback late in the series (one less disc to buy).

The one I am most interested in right now is Ghost In the Shell Stand Alone Complex. There is a new GITS movie coming out, but the series is almost complete. Anyone seen any of it?

I'm also wanting to see some Ghost In the Shell, the last good thing I saw was Serial Experiement(s) Lain, which I have a copy of somewhere thanks to my husband.

I really really really loved it.

Plus, Caustic was in it. He just doesn't know it yet.
